As the global health crisis has made it impossible to continue our lives as planned, community children who have had their passion for dance disrupted have received “star” organizers.

Dance for Joy is ballet oriented dance school with emphasis on building self-esteem and enjoyment of dance. Their BippityBop program for 3 to 6 year old is a ballet based creative movement program that makes students feel like ballerinas or ballerinos while exploring world of dance. The focus of their yearly recitals is a story ballet where lead roles are all played by graduating high school seniors. It’s wonderful to watch younger girls dreaming of part they will get when they’re a senior and star of ballet. This year production of “Alice in Wonderland” has been postponed.

WHO ARE WE AS HUMAN BEINGS IF WE IGNORE THE SUFFERING OF OTHERS

Homeless People Are Humans project in collaboration with St. John’s University

  • A special thank you to St. John’s University students who have collaborated with NYEOB for delivery of hats, socks and toiletries to homeless. St. John’s University established Midnight Run in 1984 to provide basic necessities to those living on streets of New York City. A typical Midnight Run starts at 8 p.m. when students meet to prepare sandwiches. Then they hit streets driving into Manhattan and stopping at number of locations provided to them by Midnight Run organization. At each stop students meet and interact with homeless individuals resulting in the program’s most inspirational moments.

2019 Belle’s Blanket - blankets for pet beds donated to animal and rescue shelters

2019 - Animal Welfare

Belle’s Blanket project

The initiative is to strengthen the bond between us and all animals and pets, to save animals lives through adoption and education, and at the same time to help make our communities more animal friendly.

The ASPCA estimates that approximately 6.5 million companion animals enter U.S. shelters each year. There are many health benefits to owning a pet. Playing with pets can decrease blood pressure, cholesterol levels, depression, and other serious conditions. The animal-human bond is a strong one, sealed with loyalty and love. Knowing that you’ve given a rescued dog or cat – and the others who follow in the shelter – a second chance, makes the experience tremendously rewarding. Let’s be the heroes for the companion animals who reciprocally do the same for us.
